Introducing EMDR to your clients:  Why does it feel so hard???
What you can expect from this mini course:

When considering how to explain EMDR to your client(s) here are some suggestions:

First, explore with the client areas hey are struggling in their mental health (over reactions, under-reactions, self regulation)

Consider two significant factors when introducing EMDR:

  • Explain directly and precisely how EMDR will help them with their mental health, trauma resolution and over/under reactions from being triggered.

  • Explain directly to the client your level of expertise with EMDR.  Whether you are in the process of learning EMDR, trained, or certified in EMDR, helping the client know your training level will help you have the confidence to introduce EMDR and grow in your expertise

This three-part clinical training focuses on applying EMDR therapy to treat eating disorders. Clinicians will learn to:

  • Determine client readiness and selection criteria for initiating the EMDR protocol.

  • Identify and target specific eating disorder-related traumas and memories using EMDR.

  • Incorporate effective body image and self-concept interventions.
